Handcrafted in our studio on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island of Hawai’i, every Manukai Handboard is shaped, painted, and glassed in-house, with adjustable straps sewn by hand. Each board is made to order, ensuring a unique, one-of-a-kind piece built for performance, style, and aloha.
While we occasionally release limited seasonal drops, you can now order a custom handboard anytime, selecting your preferred model, colors, and finishing touches. Custom boards take 3–4 weeks to craft and ship.
Handboards provide lift and glide for bodysurfing, making long rides possible on waves of all sizes. Easy to carry and suitable for all skill levels, they perform in everything from soft shorebreaks to barreling surf. Each board may vary slightly due to natural materials and careful craftsmanship, making every ride uniquely yours.

Koloa (The Sea Duck) – 7 ¾” x 14.5″
A larger, faster board with more surface area—perfect for catching even the softest waves or riding bigger barreling surf.
Malolo (The Flying Fish) – 7.25″ x 12″
Compact and versatile, small enough for maneuvering yet with enough volume for lift and buoyancy. Great for intermediate and experienced bodysurfers.
‘Iwa (The Wave Thief) – 7″ x 11.5″
A low-volume board designed for advanced riders seeking speed and less drag in hollow, powerful waves.
Nehu (The Shorebreak Silverfish) – 7″ x 10″
Small, thin, and highly maneuverable—ideal for shorebreak tricks, competition, or smaller hands.
